Following our attempts to shoot Frostbite matches this month we finally had a nice day and enough people to complete this years final match.
Generally the weather has been kind and attendances reasonable ,
If you look on the BA Postal League web site you can see where we are at the end of January. Now we just have to wait until the final results are out , around the end of May . I must congratulate the Juniors who have continued to improve month after month , with really adult standard scores. Thanks to all who attended , and we can look forward to next seaaon which will start in November
Redhill Archers has been awarded the prestigious Club of the Year award by Archery GB
Arran Coggan Clubs and Facilities Manager for ArcheryGB presented the award at the Club Night on On 15 May 2018.
The ontarget Club of the Year is The overall award for the club that has shown the most contribution to the development of archery and supports the ethos of the ontarget programme, demonstrating good club organisation and management.
Arran also presented a Certificate to Jack Middleton who had been nominated in the Young Volunteer of the Year category awarded for those aged under 25 on 31 August 2017, this award is for an individual who has demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to a club and made a strong impact through volunteering. Although he didn’t win (this year) Arran noted is contribution which deserved recognition.
On a day when sun-screen replaced umbrellas as the must-have accessoriy the 45th annual tournament took place on Bank Holiday Monday.
It was a great day to shoot and the tournament was as ever superbly organised and run by club volunteers.
The team prize was won by The University of Birmingham and individual firsts were spread around the clubs with Wyre Forest, Bowflights, Saints and Sinners, University of Birmingham, Birmingham Barbarians, Droitwich, Audco and Redhill all achieving at least one winner.
Special thanks to our Lady Paramount – Marlene Badham and our Judges Andy Stanford and Andrew Leadbetter.
Sorry that these are a month late but as we have not been shooting outdoors we have not needed them except for those who shot on New Years day. Well done to them . I have managed to update your handicaps and classifications .If you do not understand yours or do not agree, please do not hesitate to contact me. There is of course a deliberate mistake!!?? Well done to all those whose handicap has lowered and to all those who have improved their classifications .
List on notice board shows each members best three handicaps over the year and the average of these is your starting handicap for 1st January 2019. Classes are the best you achieved during the 2018 season. If you did not complete three rounds the average of those that you did shoot are used for the average handicaps and classes revert to unclassified .
Please check yours
As we go into the outdoor please can I remind everyone who shoots away competitions to pass your scores to Samm for the record book as soon as possible after date shot and are essential for maintaining everyones record sheet.
Well done to everyone who took part in the Club Champs on Sunday 17th September ,
26 Members turned out to take part , which was a reasonable number when we look at the history, but quite poor when you consider that membership is now around 100. Are there any reasons, which we can change to ensure a better turnout for 2018
Please find attached the basic results sheet so you can study it before the Dinner and ensure , you are there to receive any earned rewards.
If for any reason you know you are to receive a trophy and cannot attend event, please can you ask someone to collect on your behalf, to ensure all trophies are presented on the night.
